In today’s show, Chris interviews Kaitlyn Sage, a fourth-year college student. Currently, Kaitlyn is managing a large painting business as a second-year Student Works manager.
As a high-school student, Kaitlyn was a hard worker who was always looking for new ways to grow. When she was in grade 12, she worked in Sears as a sales associate. Here, she always went the extra mile to assume extra responsibilities and perform to the best of her ability. A willingness to do more led her to work as a Content Marketing Manager at Teagen’s voice for a bit.
Currently, Kaitlyn is pursuing environmental science at Carleton University.
In the next segment of the show, Kaitlyn shares how Student Works has helped her hone transferable and foundational skillsets. Kaitlyn’s first year at Student Works was particularly rough as unwillingness to delegate meant she ended up working 90-hour weeks.
Kaitlyn also got some important lessons in expectation setting and relationship setting in her first year.
Just as she was gearing up to apply all the valuable lessons as a second-year Student Works manager, COVID struck.
Admittedly, Kaitlyn was flustered when the pandemic initially broke out.
But she was quick to pivot and re-establish sales processes that were more aligned with the new situation. In this segment of the show, listeners will learn how we tend to perform at our highest level when we are faced with an unprecedented and challenging situation.
Kaitlyn also reveals what motivated her to be a coach. Apart from being a part of her peer mentoring program, Kaitlyn also coaches young kids aged six to fourteen.
Other topics discussed in today’s show include key attributes of top performers, maintaining a good work-life balance, how to seamlessly communicate with your peers and employees, and much, much more.
